Subject: auto meter gauge ? IP: Logged
Message: I purchased an autometer phantom series air fuel gauge. 3 wires a red black and a purple. so of course i went red to "hot" black to graound and the purple is to 1 of 4 wires going to the 02 sensor, which wire on the 02 is the right one there are 2 white wire, 1 black wire, and one grey. I tried all 4 and the black did work last night. but on the way to work this morning th gauge didnt work properly, it stayed burried on rich, i dont know if it from my 180 t-stat and it was 38 degrees outside or if I have a wire touching when i taped them all back up last night. any help is appriciated.

Message: The AM gauge is not very accurate. It's only accaurate at 1.0L. Once you get away from that, it falls off the readable curve very quickly. If you were in the enrichment cylce even a little, it will be pegged.
Those gauges are not accurate at all, and are only for looks.
