Subject: 2WD CC Dakota weight IP: Logged
Message: I just returned from a local truckstop. After topping off the tank, I rolled the Dak onto the CAT scale. With my 220lbs included, the Dakota weighs 4420. Front axle 2640, rear 1780. My Dakota is a CC 4.7 Auto with towing package, with no hitch in receiver. That's a good amount of weight for such a compact truck! I knew it felt solid for a reason.

Message: The weight seems about right. The only thing I don't like about a truck is the front outweighs the back bad for traction + weight transfer.

Message: I weighed my 2003 Durango SLT 4X4, 4.7 auto and it weighed 4,700 at the truckstop with no one in it and a half tank of gas. Your weight sounds about right.

Message: The "dry" weight for a GenIII CC 2WD with 4.7 is around 3950 lbs. The weights for 2004 Daks were on www.dodge.com up until a month ago. The 2005 weights are up now, which are generally about 60 pounds heavier. One gallon of gasoline weighs 6 pounds, times 22 would be 132 pounds.
