 Subject: Should I trade the R/T in for a new L?

I'm thinking about trading in my 00 CC Amber Fire Dakota R/T in for a new L. The difference with trade in would be around 15k. The dolima is to decide if the L would be worth the extra 15k or if it would be worth it to keep the Dak and go with a stroker or blower or something like that. What do you guys think?

Well, not many R/Ts were made. Not only that not many amber fire R/Ts were made. If it were me I'd keep it, but hey then again maybe if you do trade someone who really wants one can get it.

What I would probably do is go with a 408 Stroker in the R/T as an alternative to getting the L. Also, I only owe 4 g's on the R/T and then I own it flat out.
curious, there were only about 1500 R/T's made in 2000, and I beleive only 300 R/T's in Amber Fire.

15k would build a screamer of a motor in an RT. Get a S/C and a 408 built for it and you will still have some change left over. Much better truck and a CC as well.

Fraz, no I was thinking about stripping the paint completely off to make the truck weigh less. :P

i had a 00 amber fire cc R/T but i wrecked it and insurance "totalled" it...the truck was NOT totalled, only a broken ball joint and chewed up body, but stupid me in the first place.
RIP my first love.

Is this really an appropriate place to ask if you should trade your R/T for a Lightning? This is a dodge board and many people here are so blinded by loyalty that you will get a bias answer.

Yeah, well I also own an 03 Cobra so I got the opinion of the SVT boys as well :). I ussually like to get bias opinions and then compare and contrast what everyone says. The problem with outside opinion is, nobody really knows about either vehicle accept for maybe there subjective opinions on interior and exterior type things and its really hard to find someone who's been on both sides of the table.

Now the full story comes out.
OK here is what you do. Sell the Cobra, might be hard to find a buyer so be prepared to donate it to Goodwill. Trade the RT in for an SRT-10.
Problem solved. You'll have the worlds fastest truck and you free up all those weekends you would have spent repairing that old mustang.

These new 03/04 Cobra's come with fully forged internals and a cast iron block that will support up to 1200hp. Took me just under 1000 bucks to put it in the low 11's (6lbs lower blower pulley, borla stingers diablo predator tune, and CAI. The Cobra's here to stay :P.
While it would be awsome to own the Viper truck, they're just too damn'ed expensive in comparison to what I'm concidering.
