Hi I need some advice. I have a '01 Quad Cab and I had the blower go out on me last week. I took it to the dealership and it turned out to be the blower resistor. I had it replaced and I took the truck home. I noticed that when I ran the heat on the "floor vent only setting" I had air coming out of the defrost vents as well. It is not a lot but definitely enough to notice. It is also pretty annoying because it is blowing a decent amount of heat in my face. I took it back to the dealership and had them look at it. They noticed the problem but after running tests on the control board (I guess this is the computer that opens and closes the vents to direct the air) said that the computer checks out OK. They cleared a little bit of debris out of the sytem (I think the blower sounds a little funny too). They are researching the problem and so am I.

THe questions I need answered are

1. Is it possible that they (dealership) casued the problem when replacing the resistor?

2. How do we fix it?

Has anyone seen this problem before? Any advie would be appreciated.

Thanks!

John

Yes its a common problem in Cadiilacs, its the Ac actuator that controls the door the changes modes, in some cars it will make the ac click loudly in others it just keeps the defrest on all the time. And I highly doubt they screwed it while doing a blower resistor.
