Subject: Differential/Bed (Box).Mirrors! HELP

Been having an ongoing problem with my 2000 V6 Dakota. It has made aweful, almost like a grinding, noise since day 1. Took it to 3 dealers, the last one finally admitting there was a problem. Had the control arms tightened, ball joints tightened, rear differential had an additive added (which helped for a few months) and a TSB done for leaf spring clips. The truck was doing good...but now it is back to making noise and lots of it. I have a rattle at highway speed...may or may not be relaated-and it is clunking and grinding again. Truck happens to be 5000km over warrenty now...any ideas?

I also notice my box seems to not be 'straight' If I look in the side mirrors the box sticks out a lot further on one side then the other. They said that is normal?

Oh ya...and does any one elses mirrors shake? My driver's side does to the point I feel 'sea sick'

Don't get me wrong, I love my truck...I just hate taking it to the dealer all the time!!!

MY driver's side mirror vibrates enough to be annoying but I don't know how to tighten it. The bed can be realigned and should be easy to do.
That additive they put in was probably limited slip stuff that reduces the clutches grip. What about the rear bearings? I fried the one's in my Mustang within 40,000 miles. Look for a leak out of the axle tube near the brakes.

My mirrors vibrate also, I took to the dealer and he said it is caused by my bug shield. I never took it off to see if it goes away?!?!?! I did add ventvisors and it seems to have gone away, or maybe I'm just used to the vibrating enough to where I don't notice. Just a thought....Do you have a bugshield or something else which may be altering the flow of air?

Yup I have one of those...but I am almost postive I complained about the vibration prior to the deflector...I know I made the complaint to the dealer I bought it from and I never took the truck there for that long for service. Again I too have never taken the deflector off...although every time I complain about something the dealer blames it on the deflector...hummmmmmm :) Maybe cuz they weren't the ones who installed it? I have not noticed a difference at all with the vent visors being on...good or bad....

My box was mis-aligned when I went to pick up my truck (day 1). They loosened a few bolts to re-aligned it. It took about 20 minutes.

The other thing I did not notice until the first washing (two weeks) was that I had several flaws in the paint. It looks as if there was dirt in the paint booth when they did my truck. About seven different spots on the driver's side only. You can tell there is paint and then clear coat over the dirt. Has anyone else experienced this?
