Subject: Smell of gas IP: Logged
Message: At any time during the day when I go to start the truck, I get a hint of gas coming out of the exhaust and the truck doesn't want to stay running unless I keep my foot on the gas. I have to drive with 2 feet just to keep it running for about the first 5-10 minutes no matter weather or not the truck is hot or cold. IT's a 99 5.2l 4x4 club cab w/ 146,000 mile on it. I changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor last Sunday, along with disconnecting the battery while I did it. It ran fine for a couple of days, then started acting up again. Any ideas?

Message: It could be an injector leaking into the cyl causing a miss fire when cold. and once it warms up the flood clears. Try doing an injector balance test.
