Subject: Yet another gas cap question
IP: Logged

Message:
I had the old P0442 (small evap leak), which as we all know is, 90% of the time, the gas cap. It eventually blossomed into the LARGE evap leak code (P0455), in conjunction with the P0420 for cat efficency, at which time my truck was driving like it was running through mashed taters. I replaced the gas cap with a new one, and reset my computer. NOW, after all this, my question is:how long does it usually take for the Check Engine light to come on after a problem manifests itself? I did all this on Sunday, and I still have gotten no CE indication. Normally, this would cheer me, but my truck is still running the same. Fighting against itself, and sucking gas like all the Arabs died. But no CE light. Any ideas?
