 Subject: single high beam not working

Hey all,
The pass. side high beam will not come on. WHen the beam switch is thrown the headlight goes dark. I thought I had a bulb go bad but after replacing it and the fuse I am still in the same situation. This is on a 2000 QC 4.7 manual
I searched for relevent posts but all I found was problems with both headlights (low or high) not functioning and either the multi function switch or the headlight switch being the culprit.
Do the wires for both headlights go back to the multi function switch or do they split after that?
Anyone got any suggestions?
