anyone know any good tricks for removing those lil buggers? I'm getting ready to do the upper ball joints and add in the energy suspension bushings, got all my parts but need info on anyhting that might help make the job easier and faster.... I'm expecting to take a day per side, just cause i can't have my truck down for more than two hours a day...

Thanks in advance!

Torch? Air chisel? Right. The Energy upper bushings must reuse the existing shell and there's no need to press the existing shells out.

Drill through the rubber, around the inner bushing, and then just pick out pieces with a packing hook, pick, and/or cotter pin puller. The center rod stays in place. Only takes about 15 minutes. Use a 1/4 or 5/16 brad point bit; they cut through the rubber better than regular bits.

For 2WD lowers (you are doing them too, right?), take them to a machine shop and have them pressed out/in. Find a real machine shop - don't let the hacks at Pep Poys (or wherever) touch them.

ROFL!!! I just friggin quit working at pep boys, was there 6 months... yeah, they're frauds! anyways, I was able to get the lowers completed in my down time there, with proper tools/hehehe... no torching... I also had enough time there to port, and completely polish(inside and out) a stock intake, but thats another topic.... I am just to the point of doing the uppers, I just had to wait for the ball joints to arrive.....
I like the drilling idea, sounds pretty easy....
