Hey all,
I have two questions...
1. What transmission in my 99 318 4x4 Auto?
2. Going to do tranny service, how much ATF will I need and do I have to get it from the dealer, or any special friction modifiers?
Thanks in advance for answers, and also any advice in changing the tranny filter and fluid.

Come on guys, I have searched and can't find someone saying that a 1999 Dakota 318 4X4 has such and such tranny. Can't anyone tell me what transmission I have? I need to know to get the filter.

I would assume its either a 44RE or 46RE, I'll try and get you an exact answer tomorrow along with how much ATF unless someone else posts tonight.
