Subject: Squeak in front end IP: Logged
Message: I have a 2000 Dakota 4x4 w/ a 3.9 v-6. I have a rattling / squeaking noise coming from the front of the truck. I can't figure out where it is coming from. It speeds up and slows at different speeds. It seems like it stops at 45 mph and doesn't make the sound if you put the truck in 4 wheel drive. Please give me any input you have on what this may be.

Message: I had a squeak in the front that varied with the speed. I used spray grease on the front drive shaft where it splits at a joint in the middle. It went away. Hope this helps.
