Just some general info on why our ball joints are going to sh*t long before they should. It's the third item from the top of the page. You will need Acrobat Reader to view it.

Has the ball joint issue been taken care of on the
05's?

Has the warped rotor issue been taken care of on
the 05's?

Has the the tranny issue been taken care of on the
05's?

Has the 3.7 V6 missing issue been taken care of on
the 05's?

Has the wet floor issue been taken care of on the
05's?

These are questions I've been asking dealers and
they all draw a blank with no answer.

Come on DC, let us know if the above issues
have been taken care of or I will keep my hard
earned money.

No way am I'm about to buy more trouble. I got
enough of them with my 02 that I've been taken
care of myself. I'm NOT about to start all over
again!

It's wierd. I had my first set of front rotors replaced at 7800 miles on my 04 Quad. I am now on my second, and the steering wheel started to wobble again slightly when braking at about 19K. Was barely noticable for awhile but then went away on its own again and is almost completely gone now with no action on my part at 20,300 miles. I'm wondering if somehow, either through gently braking while on the highway or through the one or two times I've hit them hard, I either reformed them or shaved away whatever surface imperfections was causing the wobble this time.

Oh well, got no idea. Only time will tell.

Nothing wierd about rotors going out so soon
at all eddy when DC using junk when putting them
together.

Ball joints will be on your menu of problems soon
to.

I have a 02 with almost 25k. I've replaced the
rotors and pads at 13k with much better
aftermarket parts.

I also have one left upper ball joint that has
play. I'm keeping a very close @@ on it. Gets any
worse I'll replace both uppers and maybe lowers
with after market parts.

I've also bought my last five speed auto tranny.
The hunting it does to find the gear it wants is
total bull crap. As long as you're on a level
highway it's great. As soon as you begin to go
up any kind of incline, it's out of overdrive
thus there goes the gas you just saved! Total
bull! What are the DC engineers thinking?

I'll try a four speed next time before I buy
another one but will more than likely end up with
stick shift IF I buy DC next time.

DC must take care of the Dakota issues I listed
above before I even consider buying another one.

I am trying to find out if anyone has had trouble with the lower ball-joints. My upper and lower are being replaced today. The uppers are bad and the lowers have a slight amount of play. the truck has 26,000 '02 quad 4wd, never!!! driven roughly. So how many have had trouble with the lowers, and how many miles compared to the uppers?
