Can tires off of a Ford Ranger fit on an '88 Dakota? I'm not sure what year model the Ranger is.

You need to determine that Ranger's "bolt pattern" if you are talking about the wheels. Your Dakota has 5x4.5" bolt pattern. If that is the Ranger's, you will be OK.
If you are talking about the tires, what size are they?
