Andy. We got about the same truck. YOu listed as "losing the third cat". Mine is the same year and only has the one large one.
Weird.

We've got about the same mods and my next one is the 4.10 gears.
How do you like them babies?
And now that you have the 4.10's do you think the 4.56's would be too much?

I'm hoping the 4.10's puts me where I want to be. I'd love to hear this high revver wind out faster :-)

C'mon GraphiteDak stop procrastinating and join the 4.10 club.

So far i love my 4.10s with Auburn Limited slip. I can cruise at 40 in O/D only doing 1250 rpm's. They are great on the highway. I can cruise at any speed or accelerate to any speed. 80-110 is so much faster. My gas mileage has remained the same. If i cruise at 65 on the highway i can get 19-20 mpg on the highway.

I thought about the 4.56's but i think that they may be a little too much. If i had gone with a 265/75/R16 tire, i main have gone with them. This coming spring i plan on trying out a set of 285/60/R16. I have the 265/70/r16 now.

Yup for some reason i have the pre cats. I rememveber you saying that you wish you had them so you could run true duals. I with i had the single so i could run a 3" single. Maybe true duals some day.

Is your pcm have three or four plugs. Mine has the Four.

So hurry up and get them gears. Once you let em break in its so much more fun do drive.

Nick - didn't dyno, but seemed like as much of a gain as the HO cams. Gain also depends on how much spark advance truck has initially - I think manual transmission trucks came with more spark advance from the factory. No drop in gas milage for me, in fact I now seem to get better milage running premium. Runs good on regular though, only really need premium for towing. I don't think gain depends on year of truck, should be good for any year that has a decent aftermarket flash available.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way

Cool Andy. A while back I calculated all sorts of possible engine speeds etc using diff gears and tire sizes. I WAS going to try to get close to some 33" (265 or bigger) tires but I think I'll stick with what I have so I don't have more tire to turn. If anything I'll get some wider tires.

I WILL do the 4.10's I'm excited about it but this is my poor time of the year and I switched jobs a bit ago moving my pay dates around so it screwed me up.
In December I MAY be able to get the gears. I've got to do BOTH the front and rear at the same time or I can't use the 4X4 this winter up in the snow.
If I remember I only need about $500 or so to get the gears, LSD, and the install kit if I do it myself.
I need to buy a backlash indicator as well. Not sure how much one of those will cost but I've got all the other tools I need.

I can't wait to hear this 4.7 rip through them RPM's with the 4.10's!
