Hehehe the commercial is funny, just never thought that would be me saying that, being a 24 year old single male with a V8 truck. Allstate wanted to raise my premiums to 1184.74 for six months from 972 when I started with them a year ago. No accidents or citations in the last year, just came up with some excuses about me loosing my new car discount and some raising of state fees, whatever.

An hour of shopping on the net and I now will be going with another company for 1770 PER YEAR. I know, I know, to you country bumpkins out in Ohio or wherever paying 70 per month this dont seem like so hot of a deal, but like I said when you're right near Philly and a young single male it aint bad. I will find it SOOO satisfying to call Allstate up tomorrow and tell them they will not be allowed to jack me anymore.

Get a Costco membership then get AMEX Insurance through Costco I'll bet you'll save another 300 + a year on insurance.
Best rates out there I could find I pay $760/yr on basically same truck you have without the mods

only an idiot would go with allstate, I have an employee whose house got burned down last spring due to a faulty furnace. He has Allstate and a "full replacement" insurance plan, that is supposed to cover the full cost of the house and contents. The Allstate adjuster said he has to have the cost of the house and contents "depreciated". Huh?? if it is full replacement cost rather then some other plan why the "depreciation? He is sueing them as they are not holding up thier end of the deal. The insurance company has appealed and lost at the Circut Court of Appeals so most likely he will get his house and clothing and furniture etc. paid for.

About 15 years ago there was a general rate increase for Auto insurance in my state, I got a quote from Allstate, they wanted as much for 6 months coverage as what my current carrier wanted for 13 months, meaning they wanted more then twice as much as what I was paying with the current carrier rate increase. Plus in the several claims I have had in the years since, not once did I ever have to put up with any BS. I go to any body shop of my choosing, get the estimate, turn it in and within 3 days of faxing it to them I get a check for that amount minus my deductable. I'll bet a lot of you wish it were that simple.

I've been with Farm Bureau ever since I've been driving - I am 28 now. I've been with them through 3 states. My only issue with FB is that each state has it's own "branch" which has absolutely nothing to do with other states. Every year there is a membership fee of something around $27.00. Every 6 months to 1 year i do some rate comparisons and thus far noone has came within $50/month of FB.

But a cool thing, FB has a deal with dodge, FB members get $500 discount on new dodge products (some exclusions do apply). My insurance started dropping about 8 months before my 25th birthday. Over that 8 month period, it dropped nearly 1/2. Also, I have no tickets, 1 accident which was not my fault. FB did not raise my rates for that accident.

FB is rated A+ by A.M. Best. They have other discounts on things you can get, medicine, hotels, golf, etc.

They do get multiline discounts like most companies. They offer life insurance as well as homeowners and rental insurance. For those renting, I HIGHLY recommend rental insurace, it's very CHEAP ~ $150/YEAR depending on building, location and amount of coverage.

Not the cheapest, but definatly the best is State Farm. I called the lizard guy to save my 15% and there quote came in 30% higher than my current state farm premium. Been with SF for 20 plus years and they have came through when needed with flying colors. I would highly recommend them.

hey slopehead. your name fits. insurance is based on risk factors. sounds like your a big risk. i have no loyalty to any company. i have not had a ticket in 13 years which is probably longer than you have been driving. i just go with who can cover me for the least $$$$$ and that is the risk i take.

GEICO used to be great when it was for government employees
only then they decided to go public and let all the civilian idiots
into the program. My rates doubled when I was in the military
for no reason the year they did that.

State Farm is where it's at for me. Hell, I'm pissed I'm 37 and
pay $600 for 6 months with full coverage and a spotless record
and a multi car, multi discount policy. But I'm in the Bay Area so
that probably doesn't help either.

I don't save with gekko or progressive. I live in Michigan where you can't find a deal auto insurance anywhere. Some insurance companies won't even sell policies in this state.
