 Subject: POOR GAS MILEAGE

I've been getting about 14.5 to 14.6 mpg was wondering if there is something wrong with my truck since day one , only item i added was a k&n air filter.I'm from miami so the ac is always on please help tired of filling up twice a week. 2001 3.9l 3850 miles on it

That's what I used to get in the summer; you may live in an area where they use reformulated gas in the summer; that can knock out a mpg or two. I then got 16+ in the winter.

I get anywhere from 12.5 to 15 around town depending how much short tripping I do and it gets 20.5 to 22 on the highway at 70 mph, 2001 SLT CC 4.7 liter

I get about 17 on a good week... 14 on a bad week.

Welcome to the world of MAGNUM motors. Magnum means more. No, not more power, eats more gas. The mileage you are getting is about normal. Sucks don't it. I had a 98 Ranger, 3.0, 4.10 axle and it got 23/25 in town and would blow the doors off my Dak. Sorry I got rid of it.

P. Moreno if your mpg are correct somthing is wrong. I got a durango with 5.9 and 3.92 gears getting between 13 and 15 mpg. But lets say everything is normal i found the k&n system helped with milage alot as well as gave it more hp.

i get 16 highway on my 99 5.2 auto 3.92's thats with no mods. can't modify it since its in for warrantee repairs every fuc-in week.

well thanks for all the info about GASS but i think i"ll just wait for truck to explode. dealer has already replaced the long block at 800 miles i figure mpg ain"t no big deal..........right

man, i guess either i'm lucky or drive like an old man... i've been getting an avg. of 17-18mpg, combined city and highway on a '94 dak sport, 5.2 V8, 4x4, club cab, auto tranny.... oh yeah, and 156,000 miles on the beast. hard, when i used to have a little mitsu 2dr hatch, that got about 37-40 mpg, doh! and my gf rubs it in, 'cause she has a little saturn that gets about that too. oh well, i know that i could throw her car in the bed and tote it around like nothin'! =)

My Dak munches on Rangers on a regular basis, I just picked one outta my grill after my Dak ate it up...Rangers? HA, wouldn't be caught dead in one of those little trucks..
