Subject: More issues with ABS and BRAKE

Ok, here goes. I was having trouble with my ABS and Brake lights coming on as I was driving. I replaced the rear dif sensor but no improvement. I bought a multimeter and tested the old sensor. I figured that if the "old" sensor was bad, then I must not have installed the new sensor correctly. When I tested it, it displayed 1.8 ohms, which indicates that the circuit was not open. This means that I replaced the rear dif sensor for nothing and that I should have used the multimeter first before buying the part. Oh well. Next I am going to test the speed sensor in the tranny and the other two (I think there are two wheel sensors in the front) wheel sensors in the front to see if any of those are reading open. Where are the front sensors located? Any help would be appreciated.

Check the brake switch under the dash right behind the brake pedal. Do not remove it though because the switch is a one time install if you remove it you cannot re-use it. My Ram had the brake light abs problem and I did the same you are doing but I decided to look at the brake pedal instead of other sensors after I installed a new abs rear sensor. The switch plunger was not comming all the way out of the assembly thus the system thought I had my foot on the brake all the time.

Check to see if the plunger is against the pedal arm, if it is not (like mine was) then just run down to your dodge dealer and get a new one. Once I replaced the switch itself and reset the pcm the problem was solved. I think it was no more than 25 bucks for the brake switch.
