I hesitate to say stolen, but one of my centercaps is gone....i don't think it would have fallen off....pisses me off....what is the price of a center cap at the dealership???

I've had three stolen this year already, two just last week. I got mine off ebay. You'll find a seller there who sells them for $12.50, brand new, otherwise expect to pay $26.

i got the same prob on my 99 dak.I replaced 5 or 6 already on different wheels at a cost of about 20 bucks a pop.Some could have been stolen but the real problem i think is they tend to get loose after awhile and just fall off i have several i had to remove to keep from losing them the clips in the back do not have enough tension to hold them on after a few bumps.Another dodge defect maybee??? anybody have any suggestions how to keep them on let me know

I've had one fall off so far - the right front. I glued the new one back on to make sure it wouldn't work its way loose again, if that is really what caused it to fall out in the first place.

I just replaced my left front, noticied it getting loose and what do you know next day it was gone. Just cheap plastic that works itself loose over time, every Chrysler product I have ever owned has had this problem. Got mine from the OEM catalog at www.dodgeparts.com. $11.86 and what ever you want to pay for shipping. Mopar part number 52013653AA

Oh wow that is really smart! glue on your centercap so when you get way the heck out in the boonies on a cold snowy night and you get a flat tire you have really easy and fast access to your LUGNUTS.... what a fricken idiot.......I may be an old man to most of you but it is mentally handicapped clowns like that that I have the most fun with! BTW don't come to my shop lookin for work!

Yep, I've glued mine on, too - haven't had any problems since then. Even on those dark and snowy nights when I've had to pry off those pesky center caps which BTW don't even come close to covering my lugnuts. If you have your tires replaced or balanced they will have to pry them out though, which appeared to be a non-issue when I got new tires.

it probably fell off. i have had to replace two. i found one at the edge of my driveway that had just fell off when i turned in. i went to the dealer and they replaced them free of charge. i don't know if it's because of a warranty thing or that they are a five star dealer, but the prices some of you have said are ridiculous. it's a shame they would charge that much for a piece of plastic you'll probably loose again. maybe that's what they're aiming for...

Mine are located around the outer edges of my center cap also.
Anyway, I have lost 3 of mine so far and each one "fell" off after having my tires rotated. I think my problem was more tire tech related than faulty caps.
My local dealer wants $13 and some change per cap. I see them on Ebay going for $20 sometimes plus the shipping, that is ridiculous.

The Center Cap only needs to be removed to insert the cross bar for lifting up into place under the bed as a spare tire.

Slopehead,,, do you even know what we are talking about? A couple dabs of RTV on the locking tabs of the center caps will keep them snug, but easily rip apart when the center cap is pryed off. Glue them on with RTV around the entire perimeter and you might have a problem.
Oh BTW, I glued on each of my center caps with an entire tube of bathroom silicone sealer and need to have my tires balanced and rotated. Where's your shop located?

Mine went missing outside the Dodge service Garage when some
other dodge owner helped themself to mine rather than pay for one
themselves is my guess.....but I guess that is to be expected since
it was in the most ghetto area of Brooklyn

good luck finding r/t center caps anywere. and r/t wheels for that matter.
dodge no longer makes the wheels or center caps. you can find full sets of wheels on ebay but rarely just one. and center caps are non existant. that is just for the r/t. not other dak wheels.

Yeah the center caps suck! I have lost 4 so far and can not seem to find time to waste money on more. I may go ahead and glue them on though. But yeah what a dush bag, lug nuts are around the center cap... and you went all off like you were mister tough hsit. Maybe ask which truck we are talking about... and yeah... center caps are different than hub caps. Just an FYI ;)
