i have a 93 dakota 318 and i was going to install a posi unit from eton...if i cant get my buddys 95 dakotas rear axle...... i was wondering what size the stock rear end on a le truck would be???i dont have the gear ratio nor do i have a owners manual....if any1 can help please do so...

There are essentially two sizes. The 9.25" has kind of an octagonal shape, and 12 bolts. The smaller 7.5" is round, and has 10 bolts.

If your buddy's truck is a V8 it should be an 8 1/4...don't believe they put the 9 1/4 in that year.

well i have the 93 ext. cab v-8 and his was same baody just a 4x4 v-8...i kno he had posi and he totaled his truck.....so i am goin to take his rearend if it is still at the junkyard....the other thing is would there be any difference between our axles since his was a 4x4 and mine is 2wd? im just sick of 1 tire fires and the crap for traction....the plans i had were to buy new 16x8 rims and tires and build the motor up slightly....my 1 tire never has traction in rain and i kno its cuz there is no wieght in the truck but i also want the posi for the added traction with towing....thanx for the help

i want to install a 95 dodge dakota differential on
a 93 dodge dakota what is the difference between the
2 differential both are 2 wheel drive. the only
difference i see is the mounting brackets. can i
grind the welds off the bracket and reset them to
fit my dakota
