Message: hey thanks for the reply, yes it turns over, dist. is turning. we had the motor rebuilt last year have about 25,000 on it since then. had about 260,000 on it before. also when we got it back it was dying so took it back and they put new crankshaft sensor in. been running fine since then.

Message: Check the wiring harness under the PDC. Not sure if it is the cause, but many have reported problems there. There is a splice in that wiring harness. Because of the design it allows water to run down into it, and over time can corrode the splice resulting in a variety of electrical gremlins. You have to cut away some of the tape to get at it, but it will be pretty obvious if it is corroded.
Did you check the wires to confirm you were not getting any spark? If the fuel pump went out you would have the same problems, but with spark. The pumps on these trucks have been known to fail, most seem to replace them by the $200k mile mark.

Message: sneezer thanks, we'll check the wiring out. as far as the fuel pump yes we had to replace that a couple years ago.i can hear that working and there is fuel up at the fuel rail.and we've checked at the coil and there is no spark.there is power going to the plug that powers the coil. thanks again and i'll be checking out the wiring later.

Message: Put some dielectric grease on the plugs too. WIll make it easier to remove the wires, and also helps make a better contact as well. Did you put a new coil wire on when you put the new cap and rotor on? It is possible that the coil wire has gone bad. No different than a spark plug wire going bad, which does happen.
