Hey, If anyone wants to know. I just installed a Hurst shifter on my 2004 3.7 liter V-6 Dakota with the NV3500 transmission. It fit just perfect. All that was required was to drill out the center of four 1/4 inch nuts and use them to replace the spacers on the bottom of the stock shift tower. Just make sure to use the stock gasket instead of the Hurst supplied one and your good to go. Total install time was less than thirty minutes. I can't imagine why Hurst has not included this in their instructions and updated the yearly application. Unless I am the only one that had no problems with the install it should be listed as a direct bolt on !

Red,

That's great news!

Others have posted instructions about this install as well, it's in the archives.

I've got a 2001, 4.7, 5speed, with the same tranny.

Everyone that's done it has really liked it. I guess I need to get off my skinny ass and do it myself!

Thanks for the reminder,

Todd Bouton
