Message: Sitting here patiently waiting for MR. UPS man to arrive with the clearcorners I arrived last week. To add insult to injury, I ran out to do quick errands this morning and saw the truck in front of me and was like "Wow, cool, maybe for just this once I won't have to sit at home all day for a UPS delivery that doesn't arrive till 6:45." No dice. Like 200 yards from my apartment complex he hung a left and that was like 5 hours ago. Now I know the UPS lingo. When they say 'by end of business day' it seems with my luck that usually means 6:30-6:45 if the business day ends at 7.

Message: UPS was supposed to deliver my porter-cable polisher. i'm watching the online tracking as it comes accross the country. (NJ to CA)
gets to my state, gets to the closest UPS sorting facility near LAX. gonna be here the next day, right? no. delivery day comes and goes with no delivery. now ups online tracking says i wasn't home - delivery rescheduled for tomorrow. bullsh1t. i was sitting on my azz all f'ing day waiting for it. so i call the 800 number. she tells me the computer says he tried to deliver but noone was there to sign for it. i tell her (trying not to scream at this point) that she is wrong. i was home all day, ups truck didn't even come within a one block radius (i can hear em coming with their rumbling engine and screeching brakes). she says he left a note on my door. i told her he must be lying. (she didn't like my tone at this point, but i didn't like her either so oh well)
so she says he'll re-try delivery tomorrow and will tell me where he left the note. i told her i'm not sure how since he wasn't ever here, but ok.
next day, delivered it while i was out, my folks say he rang the bell and left it without asking for a signature. ???!!!!???. gets better. written on the box in ballpoint pen is the words "MISROUTE - RELOAD" and some numbers. gee, does that mean that someone loaded it on the wrong truck the day it was sposed to be delivered?? yes. does that mean the driver lied when he said he left a note? yes. does that mean i was right and the customer (dis)service lady was wrong when i told her he wasn't even on our street? yes.
whew.
thanks for letting me vent.
been holding that in for a week.
:)

Message: Update: They finally got here a little after 6. Came from makoto auto trends on ebay. The box included the two clear lenses and all necessary amber bulbs to replace the clear ones. IT also had extra replacement sockets with wiring in case the old turn signal sockets were the wrong size. However, luckily it was a complete plug-and-play operation with no splicing necessary. All I had to get was a Torx 10 wrench and some silicone sealant.
In total it took about 20 minutes. On each side all I had to do was loosen the one screw that secures the lense assemblies, remove those little rubber pieces on the sides of the grill, then slide the stock lenses out. Then I replaced the three clear bulbs on each side with the amber ones that came with the kit, dabbed some silicone sealant around each socket opening to help keep out moisture, then reversed the rest of the process. Slid each one back in, tightened that screw, and put the rubber molding back on. I must say it makes for a very clean look along with my carriage works upper and lower billet grills, and I can't tell the difference in fit and finish from the stock lenses. Hopefully I can get my hands on a digital cam next week and post pics.
But like I said, VERY happy with the product. Not a bad alternative to pro-car parts, 37$ shipped including all necessary replacement bulbs and extra wiring harnesses. 9 days from hitting the 'buy it now' button to opening the box. Once I had them on I couldn't believe that one truck accessory shop actually wanted to charge me another 74 bucks for install. Lowest price I found in accessory shops near me was 69$.One guy told me he can sell most from his shop for 45-50 bucks but for some reason the dakota's are more. I was a little leary about buying something off ebay but I now have a quality product installed for a total of about 1/3 the best price I could find anywhere else.

Message: Isn't UPS pronounced "oops" ? They sent my flashed PCM from California to Alaska instead of Mass, I did get eventually after its "tour" of the country !
