Message: I was given an option on ball joint replacement.
Both options are MOOG products.
The first: Replace the ball joints only.
Second: Replace the upper and lower control arm assembly.
I ask my fellow Dak owners
Which option has anyone done and which would you suggest?

Message: IF you do it yourself, I'd suggest the entire arm, as this will also give you new bushings, keep in mind that after either you should have a professional alignment done.

Message: $40 ball joint or $200 control arm with the ball joint and new bushings? I wouldn't pop extra money for a new control arm since they come with the OEM rubber bushings, if you want new bushings when you have the balljoints replaced go with a set of Energy Suspensions urethane bushings.
I just had one of my rubber bushings rip apart, wished I had replaced them with urethane bushings when I was in there last year replacing the ball joints,,, oh well :(

Message: Thanks, fellow Dak owners.
I was given options when I took my truck in for an alignment.
They (Big O Tires) assumed bad ball joints, (as I didi) since this is the usual cause of problems.
Good news, the ball joints are good only the alignment was off a bit.
Now I know what to do when the ball joints do fail.
Once again Thanks
