I backed into a sign that was below my tailgate so I couldn't see it. It chipped the paint so I went to the dodge dealership and bought some touch up. The color matched but the paint was thick and goupy so its looks crappy up close. What is the best way to fix this now that it is dry?

Also how many times a year do you wax your car and what wax do you use. I am doing it once a year with the colored turtle wax cause i love how it makes the car look richer and deeper in color.

Try mixing a little paint thinner with it. If you have an air brush, it works good for small touch ups. I bought one years ago for $20 and use it for all the time for small repairs.

could also get a little clearcoat and spray it and a small area around it. Give it a couple shots and let it dry then use some rubbing compound to even it all out and finally polishing compound to bring the shine back. The clearcoat should help level the chip out and kinda blend everything right in

would putting a dab of paint on a piece of paper and then heating it up with a hairdryer possibly help? It might make the paint into more of a liquid state so it isn't all goopy.

Bodyshop, bodyshop, bodyshop. That's where I'd be going if I didn't have extensive experience with effective paint touch-up techniques. Otherwise the risk you run is each attempt you make to 'fix your repair' will just make the problem area a tiny bit larger at a time. Until what had been a litte paint knick is now a larger discolored glob of goop.

How much do you think a boddy shop would charge me for 3 chips about the size of a quarter each
