Have any of you had problems with the universal joint fitting
loosely in the pinion shaft flange even after the bolts are
tightened ?

Did you just replace your u-joints? They should fit tightly.

It should be a very tight and solid fit. If you just replacd your U joints, you may have gotten the wrong ones. If not, then something is very worn and needs to be replaced.
