What is the weight of the skid plates for a 2000 Quad Cab? I believe there are 3 - gas tank, front, and tranfer case.
I'm thinking of taking them off to save gas if they are heavy enough.

I've had mine off before and I doubt if if all three weigh more than 30 pounds put together. They're made of fiberglass, so I doubt you'd save enough gas by removing them to even notice.

good info dak, i was considering that on my awd 2000 dakota ext 4.7
no need to. heck i could stand to lose more than 30 lbs.
