Subject: Snow Tires IP: Logged
Message: Today I went shopping for estimates on snow tire and its a b!tch for the R/T rims, I dont want to pay all that money on snow tires for 4 of them no less,
would it be better just to buy two for the rear in stead?
I live in CT and this is my transportation so i need the traction.
Thanks for the comments

Message: maybe try getting some 15 or 16 inch steelies for winter and get some snow tires on them, this way you just need to mount and unmount once. tirerack offers this

Message: You don't really need snow tires on all 4 corners. Snows in the rear and a good all season radial on the front will work very well. Ask any old guy in your neighborhood and he'll tell you the same thing.
Just get a used set of factory rims for snows and swap them out every spring and fall. It saves you a lot of money in the long run.

Message: Stumpy - Stafford speedway swap meet is coming up OCT. 17 in your state - that's where I found 4 factory mag 15x7 wheels for $200 that I set up with 235-75R15 Goodrich AT, great in the winter. You won't likely find steel rims that cheap. Check out the vendors that specialize in used rims.
