Subject: Fog light indicator?
IP: Logged

Message:
Shouldn't I have a small indicator light that my fog lights are on? I have an 02' Sport and the fogs are factory install on the window sticker.

After driving around my buddies 04' HEMI (heh...fun), I noticed he has a small indicator light on his. I now see that my manual lists a light on mine as well.

I don't need the light to tell me the fogs are on, I can see that. It just that if it should be there I wan't it to be...

Could it be a dead bulb? What number bulb do I need.

I've got a 1997 dakota, so maybe it's not the same as an '02, but mine has a small orange LED built into the push-button switch...

It doesn't look like the switch is able to be taken apart, so maybe the whole thing has to be replaced. Good luck!

The knob that you turn to turn on the lights and pull out to activate the fogs, the lower left corner of that knob has a small LED that shows the fogs are on. It's not viewable from the normal driving position, at least to me. (6'1")

I'm betting it's there and you just haven't seen it. But maybe not, dunno..

I had the dash panel off and looked at the switch and it looks as if there should be an LED with a long 'plug' that goes in with a 1/4 turn. There is a larger one for the rheostat illumination but there is nothing in the plug that lines up with the fog indicator.

I'm 6'3" so I may not be able to see it either, but it'll satisfy my curiosity if I know its there...heh.
