Message: I saw a post here where someone said that using the parking brake consistently will keep the rear drums in adjustment. Is this true? I'm trying everything I can to keep from warping the 3rd pair of rotors I just ordered for my truck.

Message: Using your parking brake was advice given to me by my mechanic. I did that and even worked the e-brake(pulling and holding the release while pressing the e-brake pedal) 20 to 25 times trying to help adjust the rear brakes. I also have tried backing at a pretty good clip and braking hard to help adjust the so called self adjusters. I am now adjusting my rear brakes myself. As per my mechanic, "adjust until you begin to hear the shoes rub." I adjusted them today and it took about 15 minutes. That included raising the back end, setting the jack stands, adjusting, and then putting everything back in it's place. I read a post where one guy adjust's his everytime he changes his oil. I plan on doing this too. I just put on my fourth set of rotors, this time Raybestos Super Duty with the same pads and I'm hoping it's the last.
NEVER FORGET!
