Subject: Prodigy Brake Controller IP: Logged
Message: For all those that provided information/discussion/advice, thanx. Based on that and info from other boards, I purchased a Prodigy controller. I installed it in my '01 Dakota tonight. Pretty straight foreward. Screw the bracket to the dash, put the controller in the bracket, and plug it in.
Now for the problem/concern. Dodge - in their infinite wisdom - ran the power line from a non-switched source. And there's no off switch on the box. So with the key off, the controller is powered up all the time. There are two bright red LED's on the front panel. The question is, is this box drawing enough power to create a battery issue? Sometimes in the summer my truck sits for a week or two without being driven.
Personally, I think it's the Japanese spy service keeping track of Americans towing trailers; just in case we're carrying GLCM's. Maybe I'll just wrap it in alum foil.

Message: Bob, once the Prodigy senses no motion for 15 minutes, it goes into power saving mode and turns itself off. No need to worry about power drain.
