My 2001 Dakota has a center arm rest in the front that folds up and down. Underneath that arm rest (back at the pivot point) there is a piece of plastic that is about 1 inch wide and 4-5 inches long. It has a plastic tether that is supposed to be attached to it allowing it to slide up/down inside a plastic housing as the arm rest is raised and lowered. That entire piece came out and is basically broken. Anyone know what the piece is called, how much it costs and where I can get one other than the dealer?

It's one piece, the same piece as the whole console bucket. Let le guess- it's creased in half.. I tucked my creased one back in and just leave the console down so it doesn't pop out, but I'd imagine you could just trip the piece off- it is just for appearance.

So...ya think I would have to replace the whole armrest? Not sure what the "whole console bucket" would entail.

Yeah, as far as I can remember looking at mine the bottom half (bucket) is one piece and that plastic strip you described is part of it. I'm not going to bother replacing mine as it would probably cost alot from dodge, I'm more likely to just cut the stupid thing off.

I had the same thing happen, if it's under warranty the dealer will fix it but it will happen again. I just cut the darn plastic peice out....problem solved!
