Message: I have a 2004 4.7 Dak with about 3200 miles on it (I bought it with just 1 mile). At about 500 miles, I put a magnaflow muffler #14256 on it. At around 800 miles, I put a drop-in Two-Stage Foam Filter from Amsoil (better filtration than paper and K&N but plan on getting a True Flow). Engine was running smooth and idle was fine at this stage. At 2000 miles, I started feeling a lot of vibration under the seat and floor while in Park idling, and in Drive while stopped. I checked the muffler and pipes and the muffler seems to be bolted up pretty well to it. The tach stays at 650rpm while in park and never ever jumps or fluctuates. I had a '02 Dakota and that idled pretty bad only after a Fastman TB and an Intense Stage III was installed (5000 miles). I also changed the recommended sensor for the '02. But, to no avail the problem persisted. I don't know what else to do but ask the dealer. Before the '02 Dak, I had a '97 F150. I put over 150,000 miles on my F150 and the startup and idle while stopped was smooth. I couldn't even tell that the truck was already running except for the sound from the muffler. There were no hiccups or burps. Does any one else have similar problems? I'm pretty sure that the "stealership" would blame the problems that I have on the muffler that I had installed. Thanks in advance.

Message: I had a very similar vibration in my '01 turned out the "retaining clips" for the anti-spin differential had broken and were being chewed by the gears or chewing the gears up. I had to have the whole gearset replaced under warranty.
If I were you I would seriously consider taking it to the dealer and have them check it out.
If it is the retainer clips and you don't do anything you're going to trash the gears maybe more.

Message: I realize dealerships have a bad rap, and I'm certainly not affiliated with them (or any other garage, for that matter), but I can't believe that a dealership would have an issue with a muffler. Even places like Midas have their own brand that could be considered "aftermarket". I think I'd have a serious issue with complaints about a muffler.
Take it to the dealer and see what they say. It's a new truck. You shouldn't be seeing any problems at all.

Message:
It is the exhaust pulses inside your MagnaFlow muffler that
causes the muffler to vibrate.
I have the same problem with my 95' SC V-6 and I just learned
to live with it.
