Message: I have a 2001 R/T and recently its been hard to start up each day, today it had a big puff of blueish smoke come out of the exhaust. I had to push the gas to get it to turn over. Never ahd this problem before. Whats the deal?
I'm running 91 octane and i think it might be from that fuel or even the injectors.
Any feed back will be great appreciated,
thanks,
Stumpy

Message: Checked the oil lately? If you're running rich (bad O2 sensor), it'll wash raw gas past the rings, dilute the oil, which then slips past the rings and valve seals, and gets burned.....usually causing blue smoke.

Message: I'm down half a quart of oil, but it looks and smells like good oil, its been 2000 miles since my last change. THe exhaust smells normal no burning or rich.
THis only happens when i first start it up for the day. The engine is fine later on in the day, even after it has cooled all the way down.
I'll drive it then park it in the driveway for the night and then in the morning it has trouble starting and its not do to cold weather either. It's nice out side and it just wont turn over unless i give it a little gas.
Thanks for the input Gen1dak.

Message: I had the exact problem in a GM truck and it was the coolant temperature sensor. Don't know if Chrysler uses the same type sensor but it's worth checking out.

Message: Today i started it up and i didnt need to give it any gas, it was struggleing but not as much as yesterday. There was no blue smoke this time.
The big thing is though that it still doesn't turn over as good as it used to. I was thinking of new spark plugs and some wires, maybe even a cap and rotor too.
Thanks

Message: Battery is in fine condition, its got a normal charge to it. Iwas thinks maybe vacum lines and the sensors to the throttle body because i just put that on last week, its been 200 miles since i put it on so the computer should be used to it by now, right? I'm about to put a K&N FIPK on when i get it, its on order.
Thanks
