Subject: 45RFE oil cooler question IP: Logged
Message: I getting ready to flush my tranny and agree with another member that the return line from the oil cooler could be removed at the tranny instead of removing the supply line from the cooler. This would allow the fluid from within the cooler to be changed too. The other way it would not. The problem is that I don't know which line is the return line and which is the supply line at the tranny. Does anyone know which is which on the 45RFE?? I think it is the one on the bottom, but I'd like some verification. Thanks!!

Message: After driving around for a while, the hot one comes from the trans, the cold one goes back to the trans.
Even the factory service manual is unclear about which is which.
