I just took a close up look at a 05 Dakota SLT,
4X4. The outside changes I can get use to but the
inside is CHEAP, CHEAP CHEAP. Simply put, it's
like setting in a plastic box.
It kinda resembles the new Chevy Colorado in
size, style and CHEAP interior.
I think I'll hang on to my 02 a while longer.
Maybe the 05 will grow on me.

I haven't seen one in person yet. But there is an article in the new issue of C/D. They don't plan on offering the hemi in it anytime soon - they'd have to do body mods for it to fit in the engine compartment.

the new body style has grown on me alot. it still looks a little awkward from some angles but hey alot of newer vehicles look awkward from all angles. i like the slt, and the bigger grille looks good. as for the bigger chin, its crash regulations mostly. i dotn mind the interior. but ill be keeping my gen 111 for a while

Was passing a Dodge dealership when I saw the exact 05 version of my 04.
Quad 4x4, V8, sport package, in the same Atlantic Blue. I must say I was not impressed. The truck looked like it sat lower and it had the same ugly front end like the 04 Durango. Plus I hear it's slower cause it got a little porky. At first I was wondering if I made a mistake by not waiting a year but I think now that was only because I could have gotten a better deal on an 04 now than last OCtober. I actually LIKED the look of the 05 in pics but hated it in person.

glad ive got an 02. just cant seem to like the new style dakota, and ive been seeing pictures of them for quite some time now.
the body lines scream import cheese, the front bumper just looks like a joke (fat lip?) and the grill just doesn't fit. they could put a hemi in it and i still wouldnt have any desire to own one.

Well, the way I see it is DC is going to have to design a new midsize- cause they have 2 full sized trucks now.
They are becomming too portley. They have a good deal with the Hemi (Though it lacks the low end in my Father's Ram). They could do some great things with a light truck...
