Subject: Sluggish 02 QC 4.7 IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, my 2002 QC dakota has been sluggish lately. Out of the hole from the stoplight it kinda hesitates a little, but once it gets to about 3000rpm its gone. I cant figure it out. I have Autolite 3923, airfilter is new, and I maintain it on a regular schedule. It has the 4.7 and I have 61000 miles on it. Lastnight I ran my buddies 99 chev with the 5.3 [327] and got my arss handed to me. lol I am installing a intenseperformance cold air kit and dual exhaust this next week. If anyone knows what could be wrong please let me know. Thanx, Scott

Message: Yeah crappy gas or maybe slightly plugged injectors. I've had to remove and clean injectors twice now. Both CHEVY's, one being my work vehicle. But usually the plugged injectors will usually be only a few making a miss at an idle.

Message: I have no codes or engine light on. It does idle a bit rough lately too. Can you clean the injectors yourself??? My plugs are only a month old now.

Message: Definitely may be the injectors. Before I spent any money though, I'd reset the PCM, see if it goes away. If not, clean the TB, if that doesn't do it, clean the injectors up.

Message: I put the dual catback exhaust on this weekend, and it sounds real good! It still is sluggish on bottom end.I am not sure if it has a noticeable power gain though. I will be gettin the cold air intake and a new fastman TB soon.

Message: Most of the jiffy lube or similar places will do an fuel system cleaning. I've also seen some tire places offer it.
