Message: You should try to install some 6 1/2 speakers to replace the stock ones first....you may like what u hear..If you still want more, throw an amp in there to power them...THEN, if your still not happy throw in a sub....I hear its kinda hard to get a sub in a quad though(unless your planning on sitting a box on the back seat)...
Start by replacing the stock speakers and go from there..
That is what I did and I wasnt happy until I replaced the speakers, the head unit, added 2 10" subs and an amp....but thats me:)
Still looking to add some more...maybe another amp

Message: I'd have to agree with Bluethunder. But, I really don't think you'll get the full impact of those speakers unless you add an amp. Get some real power behind those speakers and you'll be pleased with it.

Message: The stock deck is pretty good however, I would replace that before putting in an amp. Thats the first thing I did and the difference in clarity was ubeleivable. I installed a Kenwood Excelon 4V. Then if you decide you want more separation, go with the subs and an amp. I haven't put subs in mine yet because of the space factor. I have a club cab and I haven't gotten the money together for an MTX thunderform. Lazar makes some quality amps though. I had one that easily outperformed the Fosgate equivalent.
