I wasnt the one who threw that shaty idea of them being fire retardents anyway - I beleive that was Mr "FREE", not me. Who cares anyway. My point was if the truck is gonna burn, its gonna burn - regardless if it has that silly little mat or not - BUT for the money I spent on this hog I would hope they were designed to not catch fire at all!!

Huh? You are obviously not well informed, don't work for a large corporation, or are just plain ignorant. Unfortunaly Bean counters have ALOT of say when it comes to implementation of design elements (in not only the Auto industry but any industry). Bean counters try to cut corners in ANYWAY possible. As shown in the badging and fire retardant mats being removed from the 2002+ DAKs.
Those mats can save you thousands of dollars in repair and/or save your truck from being a total loss. Anything you can do to put out a fire or minimize its effect should in no way be skimped on. And Huh? for you to suggest I'm a flamer continues to show your ignorance. Seems you were the one who got hot under the collar not me. I was just bringing up a valid point and giving a scenerio as to why the Fire retardant mats where removed. I hope I have given you a opportunity to "use the little noodle in your head" Huh?
Now the balljoints is a whole seperate issue all together.

No prob QC, thats your personal preference :-) I just like the engine/4x4 badging, because I stepped up from a 98 RC 3.9L 2wd.... It makes me feel good LOL!

I stepped up from a straight 6, 4.2 Jeep wrangler (33in rubber, 5.5 in lift, borla cat back, engine mods. etc...but thats a different forum!haha).
I prefer the clean look, again my preference, but there is not mistaken its a v8 magnum when you mash the petal to the floor and the flowmaster starts screaming at you!! I love it!

I have to say I think the Dakotas look really sharp without all the badges. The vinyl Dodge and Dakota emblems on the tailgate were the first thing to go on my Dakota. I really think someone would be able to tell if it is a quad cab. Or if running, a V/8, V/6, or I-4.(Thankfully they got rid of that quadcab badge on the C-pillar). If it were an R/T the badges might have to stay, although I would probably splurge and get the chrome badges instead of the vinyl.
