Subject: Rear Window Stuck IP: Logged
Message: Anyone ever have problems with their rear power windows sticking? I have a 2000 V8 DD and the rear windows sometimes stick, and it takes about 10 pushes of the button for them to finally respond and activate. However, now my rear right will not respond. Anyone have an idea of what is causing this? I dont think it's the motor because in the past, once un-stuck, they work fine. I've tried pushing it, hitting it, no luck. Havent taken the door panel off yet. I really want to avoid the dealer if it's something simple. Anyone ever had somethin similar? Ideas?

Message: I would take off your door panel and check out the swithches. See if they have any corrosion or gunk on the contacts. If you have ever gotten water on them (or a previous owner) then they could have some corrosion that is not allowing them to function properly. That may not be the problem but it is worth a shot. If they do look dirty, spray them with a healthy dose of electronics cleaner and give the contacts a scrub with a small screwdriver or tiny wire brush if you have one.

Message: I don't have a QC, but the panel itself is really easy to just *pop* off. Infact my passenger side does all the time. Now,,there's a good chance it's the switches like 99bluedak said. Have you ever noticed that when you use your windshield sprayers w/the windows down,,that water that gets wiped off,,channels right above the window,,,drips in,,and drops right on that panel. ---Just my experience.

Message: All of my windows have done this for two years now. Took it to the dealership and they said everything was fine. Thank goodness ... I thought something was broke.
