 Subject: 3.9L timing belt or tension belt?

Can someone please let me know what the long belt that goes around the pullies in front of the engine is called? Is it a timing belt or a tension belt. My V6 dakota's water pump broke and in replacing it, I would like to have that belt replaced as well since it has some cracks.
