Subject: A/C Pressure Switch
IP: Logged

Message:
I have an 99 5.2L SLT.

My question is...

Can the A/C pressure switch be removed without evacuating the A/C freon system? Or must it be drained before being changed out?

THanks,

It must be evacuated first. Unscrewing it opens the system up to the atmosphere.

Sorry, Bob, you're wrong on this one. The fitting on the accumulator has a schraeder valve in it. The switch can be removed without recovering. Older generation Daks that have the switch on the TXV do need to be recovered first.
