Subject: A/C Pressure Switch IP: Logged
Message: I have an 99 5.2L SLT.
My question is...
Can the A/C pressure switch be removed without evacuating the A/C freon system? Or must it be drained before being changed out?
THanks,
ZoSoAir

Message: It must be evacuated first. Unscrewing it opens the system up to the atmosphere.

Message: Sorry, Bob, you're wrong on this one. The fitting on the accumulator has a schraeder valve in it. The switch can be removed without recovering. Older generation Daks that have the switch on the TXV do need to be recovered first.
