Subject: need steering knuckle IP: Logged
Message: well a bolt was stripped to hold on my brake pads or caliper or something on my brakes and no one can find a 9mm x 1.25 helicoil to fix the threads to does anyone know where i can find a 9mm x 1.25 helicoil or a new/used steering knuckle for a 98 dakota v6 2wheel drive.

Message: You can't strip a caliper bolt taking it out, so whoever was putting it back in should be paying for this. Judging from "...to hold on my brake pads or caliper or something on my brakes...", it wasn't you doing the job.
New can come from the dealer, so that's an option. I'm sure an auto wreckers can find one for you. I tried www.car-part.com and found lots of them, starting at about $100, all over the U.S.
Alternatively, a good machine shop should be able to either weld & retap or helicoil it for you. Check your yellow pages.

Message: thanks alot man, i contacted tire kingdom the BBB and my neighbor who is my attorney. i will work this out... or shoot them whichever is easier for me pending on what they do.

Message: You don't need a knuckle. Just retap the threads in the knuckle and use a larger caliper pin. I used pins from a 98 Ram.

Message: thats what the helicoil was for bro but for dakotas it was a weird size that they couldnt find or make but i got a new steering knuckle, i didnt have to pay for it LONG STORY but tire kingdom did
