 Subject: How many ball joints?

I have an '02 Club Cab and I'm wondering how many 'sealed' balljoints are in the front end. I've found 3 on each side near the front tire spindles. Are there any other ball joints towards the centre of the front end, like connected the steering linkage or anything like that?

There are only two ball joints on each side 1 upper and 1 lower. Then there is a tie rod end. 1 on each side. Daks have Rack and pinion steering so thats all there is. The parts they are having trouble with are the ball joints not the tie rod ends.

Just to clarify Balljoint boy, Gen3 Dak's have rack and pinion steering, Gen2's and previous have an ol' fashioned steering box & linkages (lots more parts!!). I just did a pitman arm on mine.

I thought that it had cross-strapped inverted trapezoidal steering for increased turbo-handling characteristics...

There's inner tie rod ends also on the GenIII rack and pinion steering, you can't see them because the boot is hiding them, but they are in there and replacable too ;)
