i believe there is an on-off-on procedure with the ignition key that resets that..but can't remember for sure.

Not on the 92. Pre-92 had a small box under the dash that you could reset with a paperclip. In 1992 it has to be done with a dealer computer, AFAIK. You cannot reset it with a key combo or with a scantool.
Normal procedure is to either ignore it or pull the dash and remove the single bulb for it.
It is PCM specific - when I replaced my PCM with a Mopar one, the light came on. It had been dormant since 120k miles or so. Now at 187k miles.
