Subject: Cat(s) making noise IP: Logged
Message: My Cat(s) are starting to make a nice ratteling sound under acceleration. How long do I have till I have to replace them and how much does this cost? I'm just asking as cash flow is at a minumum right now. So I'd like to know how long I can wait to fix this issue...
Thanx

Message: What year is your dakota? The cat is an emission part.It is covered beyond the normal warranty.I think in most states it is 8 year or 80,000 miles.Check with your local dodge dealer it will proably be free if your dakota is less than 8 years old and has less than 80,000 miles.

Message: If you can't use above ' warranty ' , then you
better start driving easy and don't go over the
limit on the highway !!
Mine started making those " noises " a while
back ( out of warranty ) , about 5,000 later
it had to be replaced , along with some other
work to clean up..

Message: I have a 2000 QC 5.9l 4x4 49K miles
I live in Nevada, does anyone exactly what the law is here.
I have a feeling I need tell the dealer what the law is and not ask. The dealers here will screw you over any chance they get....

Message: You should be covered I think california is the only state that the warranty varies any.I think california is 7 years 70,000 miles. In any case you should get a free replacement.I have had this service done twice once on a 99 dakota and once on an 01 didn't cost me anything either time.Good Luck.
