Message: Yes, and no. 1500 stock V6 Sport models were shipped to Carrol Shelby and modified with the 5.2 (318) V8, Shelby graphics, extended front spoiler, light bar, tranny reprogramming, and 3.90 gears and sold by Chrysler as the Shelby Dakota. It wasn't til '91 that the V8 was an OEM option.
