has anyone noticed their front bumper to be a bit uneven? i was looking at the front of my truck the other day and noticed mine is just a slight bit uneven. and i saw the same thing on another dakota in a parking lot. it slopes to the right and is about 1/4 inch lower under the right headlight. it's not enough to notice unless you have a good eye, but it's bugging the crap outa me. i don't think it is just the plastic bumper cover because it fits perfectly against the bumper frame. any suggestions? thanks for any input.

Yeah, my first Dakota was like that brand new. They just didn't adjust it right from the factory. It is kind of annoying that they don't give a sh*t about the fit & finish of these trucks. Otherwise, it was a really good truck. My second Dakota "fits" together better, but the paint quality is worse. Oh well, I saw the flaws before I bought it. It's still my baby.

yeah, i saw the same thing the other day. mine is a 2000 club cab. on thr right side its down 1/4 of an inch. i thought i saw some adjustments on the brackets that attach the bumper to the frame, there 8 bolts in all, to make the adjustments. i don't know if i'll take the time to adjust the bumper.

The mounting point can be adjusted - access from the wheel well and thru the engine compartment. Its a bi-atch to get at, but is do-able. My 2001 was the same way- I put the street scenes cover on and even after adjusting it I can still see the difference...Your right, though - It is only noticable if you are really looking at it.

sucks that they wouldn't do it right from the factory to begin with. at first i thought i might have been bumped in a parking lot, but now i guess it seems to be common. i'll just look at it and see what i can do. maybe the dealer can adjust it when i go for a checkup.

My 04 Quad 4x4 was off by a good couple inches. Evidently one of the bolts holding the bumper on came loose, they tightened it and made it nearly perfect again at the first service.

Got the same thing on 02 QC Was told the car haulers tightened them down too tight when brought to dealer. Took dealer about 10 Min. to fix.

yeah, i got out a socket wrench with a 3/4 deep socket and fixed it in about 15 min. but they were a b*tch to loosen. sprayed some wd-40 and let them soak a few min. if anyone has the same problem, just look under the truck and you'll see the two bolts that bolt the bumper to the truck. there's a total of four, two for each side of the truck. just loosen them, move it to the desired position, and tighten them back. wasn't too hard to do, but you can still get the dealer to do it with less trouble.
