For years, there's been a problem with corporate differentials. The bearings don't last, and they need to be rebuilt between 50K-75K miles. It's strange, some will last for 200K miles under severe duty, and some last only 50K in daily commuting. Just get it rebuilt by an independant shop and don't sweat it. Now's the time to change ratio's, or add LSD.
