IT TURNS DOWN ABOUT A FOOT INSIDE THE BUMPER!!!!

and better yet,

I was cruising 72mph, with cruise control on the interstate today.

One passed me going about 78mph. I tapped the brake, went down to 4th, (could have went to 3rd), and punched it. He wouldn't race. OH well

QC, 4.7, manual, etc.....

There was a new Chevy SS running around today and we were passing each other back and forth through traffic. I wanted to line up with him at a light but never got the chance. I didn;t feel like taking any chances in traffic either.

I think I heard those are not very fast. What do they got in them again? 5.3, 4.8??? Wonder how well my 4X4 would do against one?
So far this summer I have not been able to do any more mods! I'm looking at 4.10 gears here pretty soon. Going to do them myself to save lots of $$$. That is actually a harder job than changing cam shafts tho! But when I get the 4.10's I think my off the line performance will go up, not to mention help with the slight flat spot in the powerband since I did the the HO cams and ported 68MM TB.

GraphiteDak,

I have heard (dont remember from where) that the Chevy SS has the corvette motor in it in some models.

Just wondering if anyone knows if that is true?

When you say Chevy SS, I assume you mean the Silverado SS. A SSS would lay waste to your Dakota. Sorry to say it but it is true. 4wd, qc and auto do not make for the fastest combo out there and even with your mods, it would still win the race.

With all due respect, if high 14's out of a full sized n/a truck is "nothing special at all", what does your truck run. I certainly hope it runs much better than high 14's.

Any truck, regardless if it is a SSS or Dakota R/T or whatever, that can hit 14's deserves its just dues.

I drove a Colorado and I was not impressed. The extended cab
version is a joke, handling is not good and the price is to high.

JC,
Your right, a n/a full size truck doing high 14's is good. But with a $60,000+(cdn) sticker price, I don't think it's really worth it. For that price, "if" I was a chevy guy I would get a Joe Gibbs Silverado with the supercharged 5.4 which does the 1/4 in 14 flat. For around the same price.

That SS is AWD?

It just looked like a Silverado with SS logos to me :-)
Unless some guy just threw on some SS badges onto a plain jane Silverado.
Who knows. There are a ton of 3.9 V6 Dakota out here wearing R/T badging. You especially know it to be BS when you find that 4 door R/T running down the road!
I DESPISE people putting fake badging onto their wimpy version trucks/cars. That's why peope THINK they beat a SS or a R/T when it really was not a real one! Those people need to have a shoe in their a$$ for being so stupid.
