Message: Thanks everyone for the limited slip help. I have concluded that I do NOT have LSD. Since you were all so good on that one, what are everyones thoughts for replacing my stock heavy duty shocks. The truck is a 2000 4x4 QC with 4.7 auto. The truck's printout says it has "tire and handling group", "suspension - heavy duty", shock absorbers - heavy duty front and rear, and stabilizer bar - front and rear and has a 1450 payload rating.
Reviewing other posts seemed to lead to Monroe Reflex, Edelbrock IAS and Billstein with a few comments on some others. What I couldn't seem to get out of these posts was whether these were recommended for 2x4 or 4x4 trucks and whether these were in the "heavy duty" catagory or would reduce the payload capacity.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Message: Dave:
I have a 2001 QuadCab 4x4 with the same package you have. I replaced my shocks with Monroe Reflex.
The ride and performance on and off road is very good. This shock has not changed my payload capability.
The axle and springs (IE suspension) make big changes in the payload, the shocks should not make that big of a difference. The shocks dampen the bounce and impact of road conditions, they don't support the weight of the truck or the payload.
Best suggestion I can offer is stay with a gas charged shock.
